Asia is the main tea producing area in the world, producing about 80% of the tea. China, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Indonesia is the main 5 tea producing countries. The total tea output of them reaches 80% in the world. In China, the tea output rose from 676 thousand tons in 2000 to 1552 thousand tons in 2011 . The output value rose from 9 billion yuan in 2000 to 72.8 billion yuan in 2011. China is the fastest growing tea country, and in 2005, China became the first tea producing country again with the tea production exceeding India’s.

Asia Tea Development and Cooperation Federation

Asia Tea Development and Cooperation Federation is started by Tea Industry Committee of China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation and tea associations and enterprises from Japan, Korea, Turkey, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The founding conference and the 1st Council Conference will be held during the 2014 China Tea Industry Conference.

Founding Conference for the Tea Industry Committee of China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation

Tea Industry Committee of China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation (Tea Industry Committee for short) is a tea related group approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China and managed by Research Center for Rural Economy and China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation. It will be founded in September of 2014 to take a role of bridge and intermediary for the communication and cooperation between government and enterprises, enterprises and market through implementing the national constitution, laws and regulations and industrial policy.

The 5th China International Tea and Tea Ceremony Exhibition

As the First Spring Tea Festival in North China, China International Tea and Tea Ceremony Exhibition(Beijing Tea Expo for short), started in 2011. Since established, based on the huge consumer market in Beijing, the sound professional visitor system, comprehensive advertising and good service, Beijing Tea Expo has become the most influential and valuable spring tea exhibition in China. It is the best trading and communication platform for tea producers, distributors, tea sets manufacturers and tea lovers.

In 2013, the show area of Beijing Tea Expo was 10,000 sq.m. The admission to the exhibition was 80,000, among them, the professional visitors was 20,371. The on-site sales rate was over 90%.

2014 Beijing Tea Expo was held from April 18 to 21 at National Agriculture Exhibition Center. The show area reached 15,000 sq.m. More than 400 exhibitors at home and abroad attended this big event and the admission of professional visitors to the exhibition was 30,000.

The 5th Beijing Tea Expo will be held from September 16 to 19 in 2014 at China National Convention Center at the request of the exhibitors. This will be a big tea event in this autumn.
